OVERVIEW

Sunrise Aviation has created many flight training packages designed specifically for the needs of our international students.

The International BASIC Professional Pilot Course package includes 250 total logged hours.  This is our most economical program. This package allows the student to receive Private Pilot Airplane Single Engine Land, Instrument Rating Airplane, and Commercial Pilot Multi-engine certificates and ratings but does not include the Commercial Single-engine rating.  The package includes more than 250 hours in order to meet the requirements of many countries.  For instance, this package meets or exceeds all the requirements of the DGCA in India.  This course is a great choice for students desiring a career as an airline pilot.  If you want to become a flight instructor or otherwise enter a general aviation career in a single-engine airplane, the the Professional Pilot I course (below) is a better choice.

The International Professional Pilot I package includes 250 total logged hours.  This package allows the student to receive Private Pilot Airplane Single Engine Land, Instrument Rating Airplane, Commercial Pilot Multi-engine and Single Engine Airplane Land certificates and ratings.  This package also includes more than 250 hours in order to meet the requirements of many countries including the DGCA in India.

Sunrise Aviation also offers packages with 270 hours of flight time in airplanes plus additional time in simulation devices so that you will learn the maneuvers economically and completely.  These packages are our International Professional Pilot II programs and are often the choice for students from Saudi Arabia or other Middle Eastern countries requiring more flight hours.  These courses meet the requirements of GACA and Saudi Arabian Airlines plus many other potential airline employers in the Middle East region.  The Professional Pilot II programs do not include the Commercial Single-engine rating as that is not required by most airline employers in that region.  However, that rating can be added for an additional charge.

Sunrise Aviation’s International Airline Pilot Training programs are complete packages. Many other schools do not list all the items required to complete your training. Each Sunrise package not only includes aircraft time and flight instructor time (dual given) but also includes all the other normal items necessary to complete your training such as books, examination fees, and TSA fees.  The dual instruction time is not listed at minimum times like you may find at other flight schools but is listed at average completion times. Realistic dual flight instruction and ground school classes for private, instrument and commercial courses are included.  Sufficient time for pre-flight and post-flight briefings and one-one one ground instruction are also included in the Professional Pilot packages.

All Sunrise Aviation professional pilot packages now include an Airline Pilot Transition Course including jet systems and performance and airline operations.

Variations of the Professional Pilot packages include the following:

  • Substituting C172 for C152.  This is a requirement for heavier students or may just be added if the student would like more room and performance in the primary aircraft.
  • Glass Cockpit experience.  Sunrise Aviation can offer you a glass-cockpit transition in either the Cirrus SR-20 or C172 SP G1000, or you may do your entire instrument rating in an all-glass aircraft.
  • Housing included or without housing.
  • Customize.  Tell us your special needs!  We will adapt an existing program or build a special course to suit your individual needs.

Students at Sunrise Aviation, however, should realize that even though the Professional Pilot courses are designed to be completed without additional expenses, they are not guaranteed courses.  Flight training involves individual skill, knowledge and effort.  We feel that students who put forth the effort necessary for studying, show up on time and prepared for each lesson, and focus on their flight training during their time at Sunrise, will complete the program without additional expenses.  However, failures on knowledge and practical (flight) tests will add to that cost, as will repeating flight or ground lessons beyond what is required for the average student.

Since Sunrise Aviation owns several houses in Ormond Beach near the airport, we can also supply your accommodations while you are in the training.  Packages can include Sunrise Aviation housing or you may arrange your accommodations.  We can help refer you to a suitable apartment complex if that is your preference.  To read more about your housing options go here.

DURATION OF COURSES

Though factors such as student performance and weather can affect the time it takes to complete the Sunrise Aviation Professional Pilot Programs, the Professional Pilot I (250 hours) Program is designed to be completed in 6 to 7 months.  The Professional Pilot II (270 hours) Program is expected to be completed in 7 to 8 months.
