SUNRISE AVIATION FLEET
Sunrise Aviation currently has 37 aircraft in its growing fleet. The fleet covers the needs of students seeking aircraft for training from private pilot to airline transport pilot. The fleet even includes the now sometimes difficult to find single-engine, complex aircraft still needed for certain ratings. With the largest fleet of Cessna 152s of any flight school in Florida plus a fleet of 4 multi-engine aircraft including a Piper Seneca fulfilling the need for a multi-engine aircraft approved by the DCGA in India, Sunrise Aviation is ready to fulfill your individual flight training or rental goal.
Cessna 152
The Cessna 152 is a two-seat, fixed tricycle gear, general aviation airplane,
The 152, first delivered in 1977 as the 1978 model year, was a modernization of the proven Cessna 150 design.
With a 112 hp Lycoming engine, it provides both the performance and fuel economy needed in this class of aircraft.
A total of 7,584 C152s were produced worldwide. Support and parts for the aircraft remain available from Cessna Aircraft.
Sunrise Aviation currently has 27 C152s, the largest fleet of C152s in Florida. Many of the C152s are outfitted with IFR avionics and some include GPS.
This aircraft is the one chosen by many Sunrise Aviation students as the primary training aircraft for the private pilot certificate, instrument rating, and single-engine portion of the commercial pilot training. It is an economical choice as your primary flight training aircraft. Sunrise Aviation is currently refurbishing all the C152s in its fleet including new paint and interior.
Cessna 172 Skyhawks
Heavier or taller students may find the C172 Skyhawk to be more comfortable and provide greater useful load including fuel for longer flights.
The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is a four seat, single engine, tricycle gear, high wing airplane. It was first flown in 1955 and is still under production. More C172s have been manufactured than any other plane in the world.
Sunrise Aviation now has 4 Skyhawks in its fleet including 2 of the newest model complete with an all-Glass Cockpit (Garmin G-1000). Sunrise Aviation also keeps other Skyhawk models in the fleet in order to provide a variety of economical choices for our students and renters
.
The Cessna 172 M Model Skyhawk was produced from 1973-76 and featured a drooped wing leading edge for improved low speed handling. The “M” model also had improved standard avionics and the size of the baggage compartment was increased.
Sunrise Aviation’s C172M Skyhawk is a wise choice for economy and performance, especially when more seats or space is required.
Sunrise Aviation’s C172 SP features a King KLN 94 GPS with moving map display. It is a choice for an aviator still wanting to fly the “round dials” while having extra power, performance, and GPS capability. It is a more economical choice than the newer G-1000 models.
The 2008 Cessna 172 SP Nav III G-1000 models are the newest aircraft in the Sunrise Aviation fleet. The 2008 C172s come equipped with the latest in glass cockpit technology and automation.

The 2008 C172 SP Nav III G1000 comes equipped with the following:

Sunrise Aviation’s 2008 C172 SP G-1000 are excellent choices if you are looking for a glass-cockpit transition, full instrument rating in a glass-cockpit, or just want to rent an aircraft with all the latest “bells and whistles”. A special checkout is required in the G-1000 avionics for those pilots without experience in that equipment.
Cirrus SR-20 G2
The Cirrus SR-20 G2 is another glass-cockpit aircraft in the Sunrise Aviation fleet. It is a single engine, fixed gear, composite, four-passenger aircraft. It was the first general aviation aircraft in production to come with a ballistic parachute system forsafety.
Sunrise Aviation’s Cirrus SR-20 comes equipped with the following:
- 10” Avidyne Primary Flight Display
- 10” Avidyne Multi-Function Flight Display
- Dual Garmin GNS 430.
- WAAS enabled
- Avidyne Entegra System
- S-Tec 55X Auto Pilot
- XM Weather
- EMax
- Flight Director
- Skywatch Traffic Avoidance

The Cirrus SR-20 has a six cylinder 200 hp engine and 3-bladed propeller making it one of the faster aircraft in this class. With cruise airspeeds above 150 kts, it rivals the speed of many of the light twin aircraft. Use it to make quick trips up, down or across the Florida peninsula in order to gain extra experience in flying approaches at all the airports.
Sunrise Aviation also has two Aerosim Advanced Aircraft Training Devices (AATDs) to assist in the transition to the Cirrus aircraft. The AATDs not only have the identical advanced avionics, but a large screen projection as well that allows realistic simulation of flight in visual, instrument, day, night, and over all types of terrain. The airport images displayed are also quite realistic. The AATD should be utilized in any program that includes the Cirrus SR-20.

Piper Arrow PA-28R
When you must have a single-engine retractable (complex) aircraft to complete your training (commercial single or CFI single) or just are looking for a trainer to ease the transition to the more complex twin engine aircraft, then Sunrise Aviation’s Piper Arrow II is the perfect choice.
The Piper Arrow II is part of the Piper Aircraft “Cherokee” line of aircraft. The PA-28R-200 (or Piper Arrow II) is a 200 hp variant. Sunrise Aviation’s Piper Arrow has recently been refurbished.
Piper Seminole PA-44-180
For many years the Piper Seminole (PA-44-180) has been the standard for flight schools offering multi-engine training. Unlike many flight schools that only have one multi-engine aircraft, Sunrise Aviation owns 3 Piper Seminoles (plus a Piper Seneca), so you know that a multi-engine aircraft will be ready when you need it! Sunrise Aviation also has a Frasca 142 simulator (FTD) that can be set up either as a single-engine or multi-engine trainer. The avionics in the Frasca device exactly match one of the Piper Seminoles in the fleet. The Frasca FTD is an excellent trainer either for the instrument rating or transition to the multi-engine aircraft.
Piper Seneca PA-34
The Piper Seneca is available for students needing a larger aircraft to meet the requirements of their national aviation authority. For instance, the Piper Seneca is suitable for students from India and meets the requirements of DCGA.
The Piper Seneca is a six seat, twin engine aircraft. Each engine is 200 hp. It allows for a greater payload than the Seminole but still has the safety feature of counter-rotating propellers.
The Sunrise Aviation Piper Seneca is a PA-34-200 variant, or Piper Seneca I.
