SUNRISE AVIATION APPROVED TO TRAIN UKRAINIAN PILOTS

Ukrainian_ApprovalOrmond Beach, Florida – December 10, 2009 – The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine, State Aviation Administration has informed Sunrise Aviation located in Ormond Beach, Florida that they have been approved to train civil aviation pilots from the Ukraine.  Sunrise Aviation already has enrolled one student from the Ukraine and three others are due to arrive early next year.  According to Devon Dorato, President and Chief Pilot at Sunrise Aviation, the flight school expected to enroll 10 or more students from the Ukraine in 2010 and that the economic impact of that additional business would be over $1 million annually for the Ormond Beach area.

Adding the approval from the Ukraine is part of Sunrise Aviation’s strategy to expand the opportunities for the school to recruit students from developing or emerging countries.  According to Dorato, “most of our recent international students have come from either the Gulf States or India.  Though Sunrise Aviation is still receiving students from all over the world, we wanted to step-up our efforts to reach students who previously did not have the opportunity to come to the United States for flight training.”

Additional efforts by Sunrise Aviation to revamp its student recruitment efforts include a total revision of the company’s website (www.flysunriseaviation.com), new internet advertising, additional internet domain sites, and even advertising in Spanish in both Spain and Latin America.  In order to attract more domestic students, Sunrise Aviation is talking to several colleges about developing joint flight training programs at either Ormond Beach or elsewhere in Florida.

Sunrise Aviation continues to expand its FBO facilities at the Ormond Beach Municipal Airport.  In 2010, the FBO will add a new fuel storage facility that will allow self-service capability along with additional JetA storage and add a 12,000 sq. ft. hangar and office complex adjacent to their current FBO building.

Sunrise Aviation owns 38 aircraft used for rental and flight training.  The newest additions to Sunrise Aviation’s fleet include the glass cockpit Cirrus SR-20 and Cessna 172 SP with G-1000 avionics.

Sunrise Aviation was founded in 1983.  They provide maintenance, parts, flight training, fuel and additional services to local and transient pilots at Ormond Beach Municipal Airport.
