SUNRISE AVIATION SIGNS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH EAGLE JET INTERNATIONAL

Ormond Beach, Florida – April 7, 2010 – Sunrise Aviation announced today that they have signed a cooperative agreement with Eagle Jet International of Miami, Florida that will allow flight students at Sunrise Aviation to enroll in Eagle Jet International’s time building programs.  These programs will allow graduates of Sunrise Aviation’s professional pilot courses to enroll in one of Eagle Jet International’s multiengine turbo-prop first officer programs.

Sunrise Aviation calls the new combined course its “Airline Prep Course.”  After receiving 250 hours of flight experience in the professional pilot course at Sunrise, students will complete 100 hours, 250 hours or even 500 hours more experience in the larger aircraft at one of Eagle Jet International’s partner airlines and companies.  A typical program would place the student as a first officer flying the 19-passenger Beechcraft 1900.  Students will complete a rigorous training program qualifying them as a first officer including training at the airline and a line check prior to approval to fly as a first officer.  The additional training will take four to 6 months for the shorter programs and as much as a year for the longer courses which include 500 hours first officer experience.

Sunrise Aviation’s “Airline Prep Courses” are designed to meet the challenges facing students and the flight training industry as a result of accidents which may have been caused by the mistakes of less experienced pilots.  Current legislation in Congress attached to the FAA authorization bill requires new hire first officers at Part 121 airlines to have either 800 hours or 1500 hours of flight experience including experience in a multi-crew environment and adverse weather conditions.  The new “Airline Prep Courses” will provide that experience.

Sunrise Aviation owns 40 aircraft utilized for rental and flight training.  The newest additions to Sunrise Aviation’s fleet include the glass cockpit Cirrus SR-20 and Cessna 172 SP with G-1000 avionics.  Sunrise Aviation also has Cessna 152s, Piper Seminoles, Piper Senecas, and even a Piper Tomahawk and Piper Arrow available for use in their flight training programs.

The amount of flight training conducted at Sunrise Aviation has expanded over the past few years.  In addition to training students from the USA getting ready for jobs as pilots in the airlines, students from all over the world including Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America come to Sunrise Aviation for commercial pilot training.  Sunrise Aviation has recently expanded their programs geared toward training the next generation of flight instructors.

Sunrise Aviation was founded in 1983.  They provide maintenance, parts, flight training, fuel and additional services to local and transient pilots at Ormond Beach Municipal Airport.  They can be found on the internet at www.flysunriseaviation.com.
